What’s up makeup junkies!? I hope everyone is enjoying the fall weather more than I am– tbh I’m 100% a summer chick. BUT, I’ve been trying to get past my hatred for cold weather and use the changing seasons as a source of inspiration not frustration. So, today I’m bringing you two “fall favorites” inspired makeup looks to get you in the mood for autumn weather!
I collaborated with Kyles from @mentalrocknrollsex to create these fall inspired looks. And, I gotta say, maybe this year I’m not hating fall as much as usual. In order to think of some fall favorites I had to dig pretty deep in my brain, but after some soul searching I remembered: mulled wine! Trying new cocktails at home is one of my passions and you better believe as soon as that first cold front hits I bust out the spices and dark cab. Be sure to check out Kyles’ look too and go follow her on social media for even more #makeupgoals
Fall Favorites Makeup: Mulled Wine
One of my absolute favorite things to do during the fall is enjoy a toasty glass of mulled wine. As if wine wasn’t already the most perfect beverage in existence, heat it up in a crock pot with some spices and you’ll question why anyone would even bother drinking literally anything else (who needs water anyway). Spooning a 44oz insulated tumbler full of spiced booze on the couch while binge watching Netflix
almost makes me forget about the crippling seasonal depression is a great way to spend a night in!
For this look I went with a metallic, dark red lip(OCC Cosmetics Lip Tar– black metal dahlia) reminiscent of a good merlot. You could definitely switch up this look by using a matte red, or even a brown lippie. I embraced the wino lifestyle and kept a red color palette for my eye look as well. This grungy smokey eye has a cranberry red on the lid, plum on the outer corner. I used “adorn” from the Subculture palette for a rich golden inner corner highlight. I felt like this color combo really captured the essence of mulled wine full of spices and orange peels. My false lashes are by House of Lashes (premium luxe– spellbound lashes); the wispy texture reminded me of the windy autumn weather.
Fall Favorites Makeup: Warm Coffee
There’s something about a warm coffee brown makeup look that just screams FALL to me. In America, it was just summer not too long ago, meaning fresh, dewy and an effortless sunny look was in. Don’t get me wrong, natural beauty is so amazing but I personally love fall for it’s dark sense of fashion and makeup. Although some days I go darker than others, this is my favorite go to “pop of color” fall look. With a warmer brown towards the inner corner of my eye that then blends out into a yellow on the outer corner, it reminds me of nothing more than a warm cup of coffee on a chilly, leaf color-changing fall day. To counter the pop of colour, I used a dark brown lip to help it all go together.
And there you have it! Two reasons to get out of bed at a decent time! I hope we inspired you to put on some war paint to fight the cold weather. Or just enjoy some #fallinspo if you’re living for this weather and autumn is your season. Either way, I hope you enjoyed this collaboration as much as we did.
